The Magic Shell
In short: The apps have no user accounts. They are ad-supported (Google AdMob, non-personalized ads); ads can be removed via in-app purchase. Unity services provide anonymous usage statistics, crash reporting and in-app purchases. I do not collect personal data myself.

Data processed by the apps
Your settings and progress are stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the app removes them. General, non-personal usage data (such as device type, operating system version and session information) may be collected through the third-party services below to find errors and improve the apps.
Unity services
The apps are built with Unity and use the following Unity Technologies services:
- Unity Analytics — anonymous usage statistics such as active sessions.
- Unity IAP — processing of in-app purchases; purchase events are reported to Unity.
- Performance Reporting — collection of errors and crashes.
The apps do not use Unity Ads. Details: Unity Privacy Policy.
Google Analytics (Magic Shell legacy only)
The legacy Magic Shell app additionally uses Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled: your IP address is truncated by Google within the EU/EEA and is never combined with other Google data. Google evaluates app usage and provides me with aggregated reports. Details: Google Privacy Policy.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The apps show ads served by Google AdMob. The ads carry the general-audience classification (E — everyone), are non-personalized and use no remarketing. To deliver ads and prevent fraud, Google may process data such as your IP address and device identifiers (e.g. advertising ID). Ads can be removed permanently via in-app purchase. Details:
Where required, the operating system or the ad SDK asks for your consent (e.g. App Tracking Transparency on iOS). Without consent, ads are served non-personalized.
In-app purchases
Purchases are processed by the App Store or Google Play; I do not receive your payment details. Purchase events are processed through Unity IAP as described above.
Legal basis
Processing for app functionality, stability, anonymous statistics and non-personalized advertising is based on legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: providing and financing a free app). Personalized advertising, where offered, is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time in your device settings.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For data held by the third-party providers listed above, such requests will usually concern those providers; I will support you where I can.
Children
The apps are not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Ads are served with a general-audience classification.
Changes
I may update this policy when the apps or legal requirements change. The current version is always available at this address.
